Metropolitan Police
The
Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) C3i is a project providing a new
Command, Control, Communications and information service for the
London Metropolitan Area C3i includes a redesign of Command and
Control service provision.

The C3i operational
functional configuration will comprise the following
elements:

General Support (GS) –
handling demands (other than CCB calls) but not those those
coming in over radio;

Central Casualty Bureau (CCB)
–handles demands from members of the public regarding
victims of major disasters, and providing support to the
scene commander and major incident investigation teams;

Operational Monitor (OM) –
handling demands from operational resources via radio and
Mobile Data (but not telephony) and managing the deployment
and support of those resources;

Special Operations Room (SOR)
- providing a dedicated command and control service in
response to planned or spontaneous large scale incidents;

and Supervision – supervising
the handling of any demand, and specifically those made by
members of C3i staff who need help in identifying or
implementing business processes.
C3i will deliver a ‘Centralised Borough Designated Despatch’, which
relocates despatch facilities from 32 Borough Control Rooms into
three communications centres at Lambeth, Hendon, and Bow. |
