ITEM
ITEM is a suite of terminal effectiveness models that
provides a user-friendly PC based environment and toolbox for
undertaking assessment studies. It combines comprehensive
analyses of the physical interactions in the attack, and of the
resulting damage, with the latest GUI and graphics facilities
for results analysis.
ITEM has several main elements:
• Input – A library of pre-defined targets, weapons and
engagements, plus facilities for analyzing and reviewing the
associated data. Tools for modifying existing items or
creating and checking new items.
• Assessment – Tools for the assessment of
lethality/vulnerability, including IFWAM (fragmenting warheads),
KEWAM (KE penetrators), ATLAS (Anti-armour:Shaped charges and
explosively formed penetrators), HELHOLE (large interceptors),
plus the INTAVAL program suite.
• Output – A library of all the results from previously run
assessments, with direct access to the corresponding input data.
Formats include tabulated data, Excel spreadsheets and graphics.
Visualisation of the engagement includes trajectories, target
damage and the ability to create animations.
• Main GUI – The main GUI provides an overall interface into
which all the other aspects are fully integrated.
