Human factors integration
defence technology centre

Lockheed Martin is represented on the Human Factors Integration Defence Technology Centre (HFI DTC). A DTC is a formal collaborative arrangement between industry and academic experts in a particular technology, funded jointly by participants and the MOD. The participants work together to generate and enhance the technology vital to the delivery of future UK defence capabilities. Such collaboration means better equipment for MOD, more competitive products for industry and more opportunity for academia to exploit its ideas.

In April 2006 the HFI-DTC will conclude an initial three year programme of research into the human factors issues associated with Command and Control Systems, training, education and recruitment issues for the Services and processes for optimising Human Factors Integration in engineering programmes. The consortium has now been awarded a 3-year extension to the initial contract that will run from April 2006 until March 2009, this will allow the successful research program conducted during the first 3 years to be built upon and expanded.

Visit the HFI DTC Web Site for more details.
