Lockheed Martin UK INSYS celebrated its 50th Anniversary in the defence industry on Friday 2 November. The company, which began life as Hunting Engineering in 1957 and was later Insys Ltd., was acquired by the Lockheed Martin Corporation in October 2005.

Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT) today reported third quarter 2007 net earnings of $766 million ($1.80 per diluted share), compared to $629 million ($1.46 per diluted share) in 2006. Net sales were $11.1 billion, a 16% increase over third quarter 2006 sales of $9.6 billion. Cash from operations for the third quarter of 2007 was $935 million, compared to $652 million in 2006.

Lockheed Martin UK – Integrated Systems has successfully installed pioneering digital navigation equipment on board a Royal Navy submarine. HMS Torbay is now the first submarine with the capability to operate using Lockheed Martin’s Warship Electronic Chart Display and Information System (WECDIS) digital technology.
