The Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) Consortium, the non-profit organisation dedicated to providing the public domain, common agreed method for RAD and RAD Squared (Right and Rapid Application Development) today announced that Lockheed Martin UK Government Systems, part of one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies, has used DSDM to build a customised, Year 2000 compliant document management system based on Documentum.

SKY SOLUTIONS BEGINS WORK ON NEW SCOTTISH CENTRE CONTRACT

The United Kingdom’s National Air Traffic Services, Ltd (NATS) has awarded a contract to Sky Solutions Ltd to begin work on the New Scottish Centre, a state-of-the-art air traffic control centre to be built at Prestwick, in Ayrshire, Scotland. The contract work began on July 12. Sky Solutions, a consortium between Lockheed Martin UK, Ltd and Bovis, Ltd, was selected as preferred bidder for the NSC effort in March 1997.
 

Lockheed Martin Creates New UK Company

Lockheed Martin today announced the creation of Lockheed Martin UK Limited, a new company based in London combining all its United Kingdom defense and commercial business interests under a single UK-registered company. Lockheed Martin's annual UK business is worth more than 600 million pounds sterling.

LOCKHEED MARTIN AWARDED £130 MILLION ROYAL MAIL CONTRACT

PORTSMOUTH, England, 23 June 1999 -- Lockheed Martin has been awarded a £130 million ($210 million US) five-year contract by Royal Mail for its Address Interpretation (AI) project. The AI project will enhance Royal Mail’s capability to recognise machine printed and hand-written addresses thereby increasing the use of automation for handling letters, flats and ultimately packets and parcels.
 
ROYAL NAVY MERLIN COMPLETES ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE TRIALS

Three Merlin HM Mk1 helicopters have now completed the first of a series of trials in the Bahamas to assess the system's operational performance. Prime Contractor Lockheed Martin ASIC and GKN Westland Helicopters recently concluded the first deployment in support of Operational Performance Acceptance Procedure (OPAP) development trials which concentrated on the aircraft's Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capability.
 
RN TOMAHAWK INTEGRATION WINS MOD PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Lockheed Martin has announced that the 1999 MOD (PE) project of the Year award has been won by the Royal Navy Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) project. The company performed the systems integration work on the highly successful programme.
 
ROYAL NAVY MERLIN TO UNDERGO OPERATIONAL TRIALS AT AUTEC

23 March 1999

Three Merlin HM MK 1 helicopters will undergo the first in a series of trials in the Bahamas to demonstrate that the aircraft meets its operational performance targets. Prime Contractor, Lockheed Martin ASIC and their principal subcontractor, GKN Westland Helicopters, will conduct the series of Operational Performance Acceptance Procedure (OPAP) trials on behalf of the Ministry of Defence using aircrew from the Royal Navy.
 
LOCKHEED MARTIN TEAM WINS OUTSOURCING CONTRACT FOR UNITED KINGDOM CENSUS

Lockheed Martin announced that it has been selected by the British government to deliver the service to record vital census population data for the United Kingdom Office for National Statistics (ONS), the General Register Office for Scotland (GRO(S)) and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) in the 2001 Census.

Lockheed Martin Air Traffic Management, a business unit of Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT), announced a contract award from the United Kingdom's National Air Traffic Services (NATS) to provide a Radar Data Processing and Display System for the Scottish Area Control Centre (ScACC) in Prestwick, Scotland.
