LOCKHEED MARTIN UK INTEGRATED SYSTEMS APPOINTS GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR

Lockheed Martin UK Integrated Systems today announced the appointment of Ronald Christenson to the new post of Group Managing Director.

In his new position, Mr Christenson will be responsible for all the day-to-day operations at Lockheed Martin UK Integrated Systems and will be charged with making sure the company maximises its position as a world leader in systems integration. Mr Christenson will report to Peter Schultz, President of Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems.

Mr Christenson joined Lockheed Martin Systems Integration – Owego following a 31-year career in the US Navy. In a distinguished career that saw him rise to the rank of Rear Admiral, Mr Christenson commanded several ships including the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.

After spending a considerable amount of his early career as an operational test pilot, Mr Christenson held various management positions and at one point was seconded to the Chief of Naval Operations’ staff in Washington, DC as the Head of Aircraft Carrier Programmes and Head, Aviation Manpower and Training.

Mr Christenson is also very familiar with the Royal Navy having been assigned to the US-UK Navy personnel Exchange Programme. During this period, he was based at RNAS Culdrose as an instructor and flew Sea Kings embarked on HMS Blake and RFA Ingadine.

Speaking following his appointment Mr Christenson said, " I am extremely excited about my new role. Lockheed Martin UK Integrated Systems has a tremendous systems integration capability to offer the UK. I look forward to working with all the team and to helping to grow the company over the coming years."

Mr Christenson was educated at the United States Naval Academy and the California Institute of Technology. He is married to the former Sharon Lee McIntyre and has two sons, Scot and Martin.
