Press Briefings
Tuesday, September 11
11:30 a.m. – “DAGR: Precision-Strike Capability in a
2.75-Inch/70mm Guided Rocket”
Dave Helsel, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control
business development manager will introduce DAGR™, a
semi-active laser guidance kit that adapts to 2.75-inch/70mm
rockets to provide guided-rocket performance comparable to
that of the precision-strike laser-guided HELLFIRE II®
missile. DAGR is being developed by Lockheed Martin to fill
the gap between unguided rockets and HELLFIRE by providing a
precision-strike, air-to-ground weapon for close air support
in urban environments that minimises collateral damage. The
briefing will provide an overview of DAGR’s features and
objective characteristics, development status, and candidate
platforms.( Platinum suite, room seven)
1:30 p.m. – “Pathfinder - Revolutionary Advanced Pilotage
FLIR for Airborne Systems.”
Beth Marchman, business development director for Sensors
and Missiles
will highlight Pathfinder, a state-of-the-art advanced
pilotage system readily available for cargo and utility
aircraft fleets. Pathfinder is a low-risk, best-value
pilotage solution that significantly reduces pilot workload
and increases situational awareness and confidence. The
system provides safe-flight capabilities in diminished
visibility conditions such as brownouts, whiteouts, darkness
and adverse weather, helping the pilot achieve mission
success. The briefing will cover programme developments to
date and the path forward to rapid fielding. (Platinum
suite, room seven)
2:30 p.m. – “European Defence Forces Accelerate RFID
Adoption for Real-Time Logistics Operations.”
Chris Stephenson from Savi Technology, Inc., a Lockheed
Martin company, will demonstrate how coalition forces
throughout Europe are accelerating the adoption of
compatible RFID networked solutions to enhance the
visibility, collaborative management and performance of
delivering military supplies to the right place at the right
time. Already, NATO headquarters and defense forces in the
UK, Spain, Denmark and Sweden are deploying these high-tech
networks to keep track of supplies in real-time as they’re
transported within countries or across borders into the
Middle East. The brief will cover how this advanced
technology, when linked to web-based software, is improving
performance-based logistics. New RFID orders have just begun
through a recent In-Service contract with the NATO
Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA), which simplifies and
centralises the process for member nations to deploy network
infrastructure and consignment management solutions.

presentation will also feature video clips of the LIMAWS(R)
in action. (Platinum suite, room seven)
12:30 p.m. – “Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle (RMMV)-
Littoral Warfare Applications.”
Marc Heller, business development for Lockheed Martin
Maritime Systems and Sensors, Undersea Systems, will
introduce the Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle. The RMMV is a
robust unmanned semi-submersible vehicle system that can be
adapted to a broad spectrum of new applications and
missions. The vehicle is entering the U.S. Navy inventory as
part of the AN/WLD-1 remote mine hunting system deployed on
DDG51 Class ships, and LCS as part of the mine warfare and
ASW mission packages. The RMMV provides all-weather, low
observable operations, high endurance, interchangeable
mission systems with electronics and real time data transfer
capability beyond line of sight. Designed for deployment
from Littoral Combat Ship and DDG-51 Class as well as shore
based or ships of opportunity, the RMMV can provide a
significant off-board capability for combatant commanders.
