UK ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF INSYS GROUP LIMITED ACQUISITION
LONDON, October 20, 2005
Lockheed Martin UK Holdings, Ltd., a subsidiary of
Lockheed Martin Corporation [NYSE: LMT], has completed its
acquisition of INSYS Group Limited, a UK-based diversified
integrator of military communications systems, weapons
systems and advanced future concepts development.
The newly acquired company will be named Lockheed Martin
UK INSYS Limited and will remain headquartered in Ampthill,
Bedfordshire. Lockheed Martin UK Holdings, Ltd., located in
London, will manage the INSYS business in coordination with
Lockheed Martin Electronic Systems, based in Bethesda, Md.
The acquisition was originally announced Aug. 16, 2005.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Headquartered
in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 135,000
people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research,
design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced
technology systems, products and services. The corporation
reported 2004 sales of $35.5 billion.
Lockheed Martin UK, a unit of Lockheed Martin
Corporation, is a leader in systems integration working on
major programmes spanning the aerospace, defence, civil and
commercial sectors. In the UK, Lockheed Martin has annual
sales in the range of £400-600 million, working with more
than 100 business partners. Lockheed Martin employs
approximately 1,500 people across 15 sites in the UK.
