LOCKHEED MARTIN APPOINTS FIRST UK COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Lockheed Martin UK Ltd has named Mark Douglas as its first
Director of Communications, effective immediately. Douglas joins
Lockheed Martin from Raytheon, where he held a number of
international communications positions. In his new position
Douglas will report to Chief Executive, Ian Stopps. Douglas will
be responsible for the company’s media relations, employee
communications, advertising, and marketing communications. He
will lead a team of four in the UK and also manage the company's
external agencies.
At Raytheon, Douglas led corporate affairs and communications
for Raytheon Company in Asia/Pacific and the UK; and most
recently he was responsible for international customer
communications for Raytheon Systems Company. Douglas was
formerly head of communications for Hughes (UK) Ltd prior to the
merger with Raytheon in 1997.
Before joining Hughes, Douglas was a consultant at Hill &
Knowlton's London office where he led the Hughes
Electronics/Hughes Aircraft account.
Douglas, a Council Member of the Institute of Public
Relations, earned a bachelor of arts (BA Hons) degree in
business studies and public media from the University of Leeds
and received a master of science (MSc) in public relations from
the University of Stirling, Scotland, in 1994.
